Just read about vouch and realized it’s much related to something I’ve been thinking about in the past couple of days.

Like everyone else that is getting up to speed with coding agents, I’ve been thinking about what software “creation” will look like going forward. If we really get to the point where we can create system without looking at the code, what will the interface for a software creator look like? In Star Trek, everyone just talks to the computer and Gen AI creates a simulation in the holodeck.

Until then, what will our creation canvas look like? If we aren’t looking at the code and bridging the outcomes and objectives to the code becomes the role of us humans, then will we be just writing specs or speclets (if your not into waterfall)?

Will this actually revive open source? I feel like in the past few years open source has caused a lot of burn out. Tons of issues being reported and PRs that don’t go reviewed for days, weeks, months. But, what if the bug reports and the ideas are what other contribute and the maintainer acts like the benevolent product dictator and decides what issues and features/epics get sent to the agent swarm?

What is the role of the PRs then? Do we really need system like vouch?
